Submissions may be on any individual, living or dead. All submissions must be well-written, relatively unbiased, and at least 150 words long. Submissions which have been looked over by a faculty member for content and style will be given preference, as will submissions between 250 and 400 words. By submitting to the project, you are acknowledging that the work you submit is your own, and taking responsibility for avoiding plagarism.
Only electronic submissions will be accepted. Submissions should be mailed in plain text format to laughlin@niu.edu. Each submission should start with the name of the person, followed by the birth and death date (if applicable). If a faculty member has approved your content, please indicate this at the bottom of the email, along with the name of the professor/instructor. Please keep a copy of your work, as submissions will not be returned.
If your submission is accepted, we will email you (at the address you sent the biography from) within three weeks and ask you to write a short "About the Author" piece to be posted on our pages. We will generally not contact those individuals whose submissions are not accepted.
