r Dorothy
McBride Stetson, Professor of Political Science, Florida Atlantic
University. "Dorothy Stetson and I have a long friendship and professional
relationship through the Women's Caucus in Political Science. We
now co-edit the series Women and Politics for Routledge Press. Having
such a distinguished scholar in the Comparative Politics field as
a co-editor has immensely broadened my knowledge of women, gender
and politics globally." ~ Barbara Burrell, Associate Director, Public

Kiernan, Deputy Assistant Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and
Firearms. "When Kathy left Chicago's ATF office for Washington D.C.,
Mayor Daly was upset and tried to keep her in Chicago. The people

Lacampagne, Director of the Mathematical Sciences Education Board
at the National Academy of Science. "Dr. Lacampagene is a native
of California and a mother of four. She began as a number theorist
and became interested in mathematics education. She now would be

ASSOCIATE OF THE MONTH
Women's Studies is pleased to announced a new Bulletin
segment called Associate of the Month," which will celebrate the
research and teaching of a Faculty Associate.
This month we salute Professor Susan H. Linden,
Associate Professor of Foreign Languages and Literatures. Linden
began her life-long love of the French language in the 7th
grade. She came to NIU in 1980, after teaching at Ohio State University
in Columbus.
Linden's specialty is Twentieth-Century French Literature.
Her research interests include the twentieth-century novel, autobiography,
and women writers. Linden has published papers and given presentations
on works of Albert Camus, Colette, Hélène Cixous,
George Sand, Madame de Sévigné,and Marguerite Duras.
When Linden is not teaching or doing research, she
is busy with the Dalmatian Rescue of Northern Illinois, a national
network of independent Dalmatian rescue volunteers. To view Linden's
